Indications

Bactrim F is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections, including:

  • Urinary tract infections, such as cystitis and pyelonephritis.
  • Respiratory infections, including Pneumocystis jirovecii pneumonia.
  • Gastrointestinal infections, such as Shigella and Salmonella enteritis.
  • Skin and soft tissue infections.

The combination of sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim acts synergistically to inhibit bacterial growth and is effective against a wide range of microorganisms.

Composition

Each tablet contains:

  • Sulfamethoxazole: 800 mg
  • Trimethoprim: 160 mg

Contraindications

Bactrim F is contraindicated in patients with:

  • Allergy to sulfonamides or any component of the formula.
  • Severe renal failure.
  • Megaloblastic anemia due to folate deficiency.

Precautions

Caution is recommended in the following cases:

  • Patients with a history of allergies.
  • Patients with liver or kidney disease.
  • Pregnant or breastfeeding women.

It is important to monitor renal and hematological function during prolonged treatment.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
