Indications

Aripiprazole is indicated for the treatment of psychotic disorders, including schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. It is also used as part of a combination treatment for major depressive disorder in adults. Its mechanism of action is based on the modulation of dopamine and serotonin receptors, which helps balance neurotransmitters in the brain and improve symptoms associated with these disorders. It is important that this medication be administered under the supervision of a healthcare professional, who will determine the appropriate dose and duration of treatment according to the patient's specific needs.

Composition

Each tablet contains 15 mg of aripiprazole as the active ingredient. Excipients: microcrystalline cellulose, starch, magnesium stearate, among others.

Contraindications

Aripiprazole should not be used in patients with known hypersensitivity to aripiprazole or any of the excipients. It is contraindicated in patients with a history of neuroleptic malignant syndrome, severe akathisia, and in those with health problems that may be aggravated by its use.

Precautions

Caution is recommended in patients with a history of cardiovascular diseases, seizures, or those who are being treated with other medications that affect the central nervous system. Likewise, the risk of adverse effects should be evaluated in special populations, such as the elderly or patients with comorbidities.

Storage

The medication should be stored in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
