Indications
Tobramycin/Dexamethasone Ointment is indicated for the treatment of ocular infections caused by susceptible microorganisms, as well as for the management of inflammatory processes in the eye and its adnexa. This medication combines an antibiotic (Tobramycin) that acts against bacteria and a corticosteroid (Dexamethasone) that helps reduce inflammation and alleviate associated symptoms. It can be used in cases of bacterial conjunctivitis, blepharitis, and other inflammatory conditions requiring combined therapy.
Composition
Each gram of ointment contains: Tobramycin 3 mg and Dexamethasone 1 mg.
Contraindications
It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula. Its use is not recommended in viral, fungal, or tuberculous ocular infections. It should not be administered in cases of glaucoma or in patients who have recently received live virus vaccines.
Precautions
Caution is necessary in patients with a history of ocular herpes simplex, as prolonged use of corticosteroids may increase the risk of corneal perforation. The use in patients with viral or fungal eye diseases should be evaluated. Avoid prolonged use to prevent systemic side effects. It is recommended to review the clinical response after 2 weeks of treatment.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15°C and 30°C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the packaging.
