Indications

Tiboquir is indicated for the treatment of patients with metastatic colorectal cancer in combination with other chemotherapeutic agents. This medication is used in patients who have not received prior treatment for this disease. Its use also extends to patients with gastric cancer, as part of first-line therapy in combination with other antineoplastic drugs. Oxaliplatin acts as an alkylating agent that binds to DNA, interfering with cell replication and promoting cell death in cancer cells. Continuous medical evaluation and monitoring are important during treatment.

Composition

Each Tiboquir ampoule contains 100 mg of oxaliplatin. Excipients: water for injection, tartaric acid, sodium chloride, among others.

Contraindications

Tiboquir is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to oxaliplatin or any component of the formulation. Its use is not recommended in patients with a history of severe peripheral neuropathy or if they are receiving treatment with other chemotherapeutic agents that may potentiate its neurotoxic effects. Likewise, it should not be administered to pregnant or breastfeeding women, unless the benefits outweigh the risks.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with compromised hepatic or renal function, as well as in those with a history of autoimmune diseases. Regular monitoring of hematological function is recommended due to the risk of neutropenia and thrombocytopenia. This medication must be administered under the supervision of a physician experienced in managing oncological treatments.

Storage

Store at room temperature, between 15°C and 30°C. Protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
