Indications

Terbinafine 1% Solution is indicated for the treatment of superficial fungal infections of the skin and nails caused by dermatophytes, yeasts, and fungi. It is primarily used in the treatment of onychomycosis (nail infection) and tinea (skin infections such as athlete's foot, tinea corporis, and tinea cruris). Its fungicidal action works by inhibiting ergosterol synthesis, an essential component of the fungal cell membrane, leading to fungal death. It is effective for use in affected areas and can be applied directly to the affected skin or nails.

Composition

Each 100 ml of solution contains: Terbinafine (base) 1 g, Excipients: benzyl alcohol, propylene glycol, purified water q.s. 100 ml.

Contraindications

This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to terbinafine or any of the components of the formula. It should not be used for infections caused by fungi not susceptible to terbinafine, or for bacterial or viral infections.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with liver or kidney disease, as well as in those who are using other antifungal medications. Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes. In case of adverse reactions, treatment should be discontinued and a doctor consulted.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
