Indications

Telmisartan/Hydrochlorothiazide is indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension in adults. The combination of telmisartan, an angiotensin II receptor antagonist, and hydrochlorothiazide, a diuretic, acts synergistically to reduce blood pressure. This combination is effective for patients not adequately controlled with monotherapy and has been shown to improve blood pressure control in a wide range of patients. Furthermore, it can be considered in patients with comorbidities that may benefit from blood pressure reduction.

Composition

Each tablet contains:
Telmisartan 80 mg
Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg

Contraindications

This medication is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to telmisartan, hydrochlorothiazide, or any component of the formula. It is also contraindicated in patients with a history of angioedema related to previous ACE inhibitor treatments and in those with anuria or severe renal failure.

Precautions

Caution is recommended in patients with a history of kidney, liver, or heart diseases. It is important to monitor potassium levels and kidney function during treatment. This medication should be used with care in patients who are taking other antihypertensives or diuretics.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
