Indications

Suronit (Nitrofurantoin) is indicated for the treatment of urinary tract infections caused by susceptible organisms. It is commonly used for acute and chronic bladder infections (cystitis), as well as kidney infections (pyelonephritis). This medication primarily acts on gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, inhibiting their growth and reproduction. It is important to note that Suronit should not be used for urinary tract infections where the sensitivity of the causative microorganism has not been confirmed. Additionally, it is recommended that the use of this medication be accompanied by adequate hydration to facilitate drug elimination and reduce the risk of adverse effects.

Composition

Each Suronit capsule contains 100 mg of Nitrofurantoin as the active ingredient. Excipients include: gelatin, colorants, and other inert components that allow for the capsule's formulation.

Contraindications

Suronit is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to Nitrofurantoin or any of the excipients. It is also contraindicated in patients with severe renal insufficiency, as it may increase the risk of toxicity. Its use is not recommended during pregnancy, especially during the last trimester, due to possible adverse effects on the fetus.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with pulmonary or liver diseases, as well as in those with enzyme deficiencies. Regular medical follow-up is important during treatment, especially if prolonged doses are administered, due to the risk of adverse effects such as peripheral neuropathy or lung damage.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, protected from light and out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
