Indications

Softamicid (Norepinephrine) is indicated for the treatment of patients with septic shock, cardiogenic shock, and other forms of hypotension requiring vasopressor administration. Norepinephrine primarily acts on alpha-1 adrenergic receptors, causing vasoconstriction that increases blood pressure, and at higher doses also affects beta-1 receptors, which can improve myocardial contractility. Its use is important in critical situations where hemodynamic stabilization is a priority.

Composition

Each ampoule of Softamicid (Norepinephrine) contains:

• Norepinephrine (as norepinephrine bitartrate) 4 mg
• Excipients: water for injection, citric acid, among others.

Contraindications

Softamicid is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to norepinephrine or any of the excipients. It should not be used in cases of uncorrected hypovolemia, as it may worsen the patient's hemodynamic status. It is also contraindicated in patients with peripheral vascular disease and in those with severe hypoxia, as it may further compromise tissue perfusion.

Precautions

It is essential to constantly monitor the patient's blood pressure and vital signs during Softamicid administration. Special care should be taken in patients with a history of ischemic heart disease, chronic hypertension, or those receiving MAO inhibitors. In cases of extravasation, the infusion should be stopped immediately and the appropriate solution administered to minimize tissue damage.

Storage

Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius. Protect from light. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
