Indications

Simlo (Simvastatin) is indicated for the reduction of elevated total cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein (LDL) levels in patients with primary or mixed hypercholesterolemia. This medication is used in conjunction with an appropriate diet to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease in patients with multiple risk factors, as well as in patients with a history of coronary heart disease to decrease cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. Simvastatin is also indicated for the reduction of triglyceride levels in patients with hypertriglyceridemia and for increasing high-density lipoprotein (HDL) in adults, thereby contributing to the improvement of the patient's lipid profile.

Composition

Each Simlo tablet contains 10 mg of simvastatin as the active ingredient, as well as excipients that facilitate its formulation and administration.

Contraindications

Simlo is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to simvastatin or to any of the excipients in the formulation. It should not be administered to patients with active or persistent liver disease, or to those who are concomitantly treated with certain antifungals, antibiotics, or HIV protease inhibitors that may increase the concentration of simvastatin in plasma.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of liver disease, as well as in those who consume excessive alcohol. It is important to monitor liver enzymes before and during treatment with Simlo. Likewise, it is recommended to perform liver function tests before starting treatment and subsequently as indicated by the physician. Patients should be informed about the signs and symptoms of muscle damage and should report any unusual muscle pain or weakness.

Store in a cool, dry place, at room temperature, protected from light and out of reach of children.

  1. Free home delivery by local branches on orders over $1000. Otherwise, a $50 fee will be added in the cities of Querétaro and La Paz, BCS, and $150 in San José del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas, BCS.
  2. FREE national shipping via ground on orders over $1,500.00. Otherwise, a fee of $170.00 MXN (One hundred seventy Mexican pesos) will be added for a standard package with dimensions up to 20cm x 20cm x 20cm and 1kg in weight, and $290.00 MXN (Two hundred ninety Mexican pesos) for packages exceeding the aforementioned dimensions or weight.
