Indications
Sildenafil is indicated for the treatment of erectile dysfunction in men. This condition is characterized by the inability to achieve or maintain an erection adequate for satisfactory sexual activity. Sildenafil works by increasing blood flow to the penis during sexual stimulation, thus facilitating an erection. It is important to note that the use of Sildenafil must be accompanied by sexual stimulation to be effective.
Composition
Each Sildenafil 50 mg tablet contains:
- Sildenafil (as citrate) 50 mg
- Excipients: (list specific excipients if available)
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients who are hypersensitive to sildenafil or any of the excipients in the formula. It should not be used in patients who are taking nitrates, as this can lead to a dangerous drop in blood pressure. Additionally, its use is not recommended in patients with severe cardiovascular disease, severe liver or kidney failure, or conditions that may be aggravated by increased blood flow to the penis.
Precautions
Caution is advised in patients with cardiovascular diseases, as well as in those who have recently suffered a heart attack, arrhythmias, or hypotension. Care should also be taken in patients with conditions that may predispose to priapism, such as sickle cell anemia, multiple myeloma, or leukemia. Consult your doctor if you are taking other medications, especially those that affect sildenafil metabolism.
Storage
Store the medication in its original packaging, in a cool, dry place, at temperatures not exceeding 30 °C. Keep out of reach of children.
