Indications
Sertraline is indicated for the treatment of major depressive episodes, generalized anxiety disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, panic disorder, and premenstrual dysphoric disorder. This medication acts on neurotransmitters in the brain, helping to balance serotonin levels and improve the patient's mood. It is important that treatment is supervised by a physician, who will assess the response to the medication and adjust the dose as needed.
Composition
Each Sertraline 50 mg tablet contains: sertraline hydrochloride equivalent to 50 mg of sertraline, as well as excipients: lactose, starch, and magnesium stearate.
Contraindications
It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to sertraline or any of the product's excipients. Its use is not recommended in combination with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) and in patients receiving thioridazine, due to the risk of serious adverse effects.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of manic disorders, seizures, liver or kidney problems. Likewise, vigilance is recommended in case of suicidal behavior symptoms, especially at the beginning of treatment or when making dose changes. Alcohol consumption should be avoided during treatment with sertraline.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children and do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
