Indications
Rosuvastatin is indicated for the treatment of primary hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia in adult patients, as well as for the prevention of cardiovascular diseases in individuals at high risk. Its use is recommended in combination with an appropriate diet for reducing LDL cholesterol and triglyceride levels, as well as for increasing HDL cholesterol levels. Additionally, it is used to reduce the risk of cardiovascular events in patients with a history of coronary heart disease.
Composition
Each Rosuvastatin 10 mg tablet contains:
- Rosuvastatin: 10 mg
- Excipients: Lactose, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, and others.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to rosuvastatin or any of the formula's components. It should not be administered to patients with active liver disease or persistent elevations of transaminases, nor to pregnant or breastfeeding women.
Precautions
It should be used with caution in patients with a history of muscle diseases or those taking other medications that may increase the risk of myopathy. It is advisable to perform liver function tests before starting treatment and during its administration. In case of muscle symptoms, the risk-benefit ratio of the treatment should be evaluated.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
