Indications
Proxsaflo (levofloxacin) is indicated for the treatment of various bacterial infections. It is used in the treatment of respiratory infections, such as community-acquired pneumonia and acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis. It is also indicated for urinary tract infections, including pyelonephritis and cystitis, as well as skin and soft tissue infections. This medication is effective against certain gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, making it useful in the management of complicated infections in patients with underlying medical conditions.
Composition
Each Proxsaflo tablet contains 750 mg of levofloxacin as the active ingredient, as well as excipients necessary for the drug's formulation.
Contraindications
Proxsaflo is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to levofloxacin, other fluoroquinolones, or any of the excipients in the formula. It should also be avoided in patients with a history of tendinitis or tendon rupture associated with previous fluoroquinolone use.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of epilepsy, central nervous system disorders, renal failure, or those receiving therapy with medications that may cause QT interval prolongation. Use in pregnant and breastfeeding women is not recommended unless the benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus or infant.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
