Indications
Pregabalin is indicated for the treatment of diabetic neuropathy, postherpetic neuropathic pain, and as adjunctive therapy in adults with partial-onset seizures, with or without secondary generalization. It is also used in the management of generalized anxiety disorder. The efficacy of pregabalin in these conditions has been demonstrated in controlled clinical studies, making it a relevant therapeutic option in the management of neuropathic pain and anxiety disorders.
Composition
Each tablet contains 75 mg of pregabalin as the active ingredient. Excipients: corn starch, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, and other inactive excipients.
Contraindications
It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to pregabalin or to any of the excipients in the formulation. Its use is not recommended in patients with severe renal impairment or in those with a history of substance abuse.
Precautions
Special care should be taken when prescribing pregabalin to patients with a history of depression, mood disorders, or suicidal thoughts. Patients should be monitored for signs of depression and changes in behavior. Additionally, gradual dose reduction should be considered when discontinuing treatment to avoid withdrawal symptoms.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the packaging.
