Indications
Prednisone is indicated in the treatment of various conditions requiring an anti-inflammatory and/or immunosuppressive effect. It is used in autoimmune diseases, such as systemic lupus erythematosus and rheumatoid arthritis. It is also indicated in the treatment of severe allergic conditions, such as allergic rhinitis and dermatitis. In respiratory diseases, it can be used in cases of asthma and exacerbated chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Additionally, it is prescribed in the treatment of certain hematological diseases, such as hemolytic anemia and thrombocytopenia. In some cases, it is used in the management of neoplasms, as it helps reduce associated inflammation and controls related symptoms.
Composition
Each tablet contains 50 mg of prednisone as the active ingredient. Excipients: starch, lactose, magnesium stearate, among others.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to prednisone or any of the excipients. It should not be used in uncontrolled systemic infections, such as active tuberculosis, and in patients with peptic ulcers or severe gastrointestinal diseases. It is also contraindicated in cases of severe osteoporosis and in certain viral and fungal infections.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with diabetes mellitus, hypertension, and heart diseases, as it may alter the control of these conditions. Likewise, monitoring should be considered in patients with latent or chronic infections. Prolonged use can cause significant side effects, so regular medical follow-up is recommended. Abrupt discontinuation of treatment should be avoided.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
