Indications

Prasiver 20 mg is indicated for the treatment of primary hypercholesterolemia and dyslipidemia, as well as for the prevention of cardiovascular diseases in high-risk patients. This medicine acts by inhibiting the enzyme HMG-CoA reductase, which is crucial in cholesterol synthesis in the liver. In addition, it can be used as a complement to an adequate diet to reduce LDL cholesterol and triglyceride levels, and increase HDL cholesterol in adult patients. Its use is indicated in patients with a family history of premature coronary heart disease and those who have had previous cardiovascular events.

Composition

Each Prasiver tablet contains: Pravastatin sodium 20 mg, excipients: lactose, starch, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate and others.

Contraindications

This medicine is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to pravastatin or any of the components of the formula. It should not be administered to patients with active liver disease or those with elevated transaminase levels. It is also contraindicated during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised when administering Prasiver in patients with a history of liver disease, kidney failure, and in those who consume excessive alcohol. It is also important to monitor transaminase levels during treatment. Concomitant use of other medications that may increase the risk of myopathy and rhabdomyolysis should be avoided.
