Indications

Pranidol is indicated in the treatment of arterial hypertension, as well as in the management of angina pectoris and in the prevention of migraines. It is also used in the treatment of certain types of cardiac arrhythmias and in the management of anxiety. Its action is based on the inhibition of beta-adrenergic receptors, which results in a decrease in heart rate and blood pressure. In addition, it has been used in the management of stress situations, such as essential tremor, and in the treatment of physical symptoms of anxiety.

Composition

Each Pranidol tablet contains 20 mg of propranolol hydrochloride, as well as excipients necessary for the formulation of the tablet.

Contraindications

This medication is contraindicated in patients with severe bradycardia, second and third-degree heart block, decompensated heart failure, bronchial asthma, or a history of allergic reactions to beta-blockers. Likewise, it should not be administered to patients with untreated pheochromocytoma.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with diabetes mellitus, as propranolol can mask the symptoms of hypoglycemia. Its use should also be considered in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases and in those with peripheral circulatory disorders. It is important to carry out adequate medical monitoring to evaluate the response to treatment and adjust the dose if necessary.

Storage

Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius. Keep in its original container and out of the reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
