Indications

Pramotil is indicated for the treatment of nausea and vomiting of various etiologies, including those associated with chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and post-surgery. It is also used in cases of functional dyspepsia and gastrointestinal motility disorders, where the goal is to improve gastric emptying. Its antiemetic and prokinetic action makes it useful in the prevention and treatment of nausea and vomiting induced by medications or medical procedures. Additionally, it can be used in the treatment of diabetic gastroparesis, where it helps improve symptoms related to gastric retention.

Composition

Each Pramotil ampoule contains 10mg of metoclopramide in 2ml of injectable solution. Excipients are: sodium chloride, water for injection, and other components that ensure the stability and efficacy of the product.

Contraindications

Pramotil is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to metoclopramide or any of the product's excipients. It should not be administered in cases of gastrointestinal hemorrhage, mechanical obstruction of the gastrointestinal tract, and in patients with pheochromocytoma. It is also contraindicated in patients with neurological diseases that may be aggravated by the use of metoclopramide.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised when administering Pramotil to patients with a history of epilepsy, as it may increase the risk of seizures. Likewise, prolonged use of metoclopramide can lead to extrapyramidal disorders. It is recommended to monitor patients on prolonged treatment and consider dose reduction or discontinuation of treatment if extrapyramidal symptoms occur. In patients with renal insufficiency, the dose should be adjusted and renal function monitored.

Storage

Pramotil should be stored in a cool, dry place, protected from light and at a temperature between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius. Keep out of reach of children.
