Indications

Pramipexole is indicated for the treatment of symptoms of Parkinson's disease in adult patients. This medication acts as a dopamine receptor agonist, which helps improve mobility and reduce rigidity and tremor. It can also be used in the treatment of restless legs syndrome, providing relief to patients experiencing an uncontrollable urge to move their legs, especially during periods of rest.

Composition

Each Pramipexole tablet contains 0.5 mg of pramipexole (as dihydrochloride), as well as excipients such as lactose monohydrate, corn starch, and other inactive components that facilitate the formulation and absorption of the drug.

Contraindications

This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to pramipexole or any of the formulation components. Caution should also be exercised in patients with severe renal impairment, as drug elimination may be affected. Its use is not recommended during pregnancy and lactation, unless deemed necessary by the treating physician.

Precautions

Special care should be taken when administering Pramipexole to patients with a history of psychiatric disorders, as well as those with a history of compulsive behaviors. Regular patient follow-up is important to adjust the dose according to clinical response. In case of adverse effects, a physician should be consulted.
