Indications
Pota-Vi-Kin is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections caused by microorganisms susceptible to phenoxymethylpenicillin. These infections may include, but are not limited to: upper respiratory tract infections, otitis media, pharyngitis, tonsillitis, and some skin infections. Additionally, it can be used for the prophylaxis of infections in patients susceptible to certain medical conditions. It is important that the use of this medication is in accordance with medical indications and established guidelines to ensure its effectiveness and minimize the risk of bacterial resistance.
Composition
Each Pota-Vi-Kin tablet contains 800,000 units of phenoxymethylpenicillin as the active ingredient. Excipients: (list if known).
Contraindications
It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to penicillin or any of the components of the formula. Caution should also be exercised in patients with a history of severe allergic reactions to antibiotics of the same class. Its use is not recommended for viral infections or in conditions where penicillin is not the appropriate treatment.
Precautions
It should be used with caution in patients with a history of gastrointestinal diseases, especially those affecting the intestinal flora. Medical monitoring is recommended in case of prolonged treatment to avoid superinfection by non-susceptible organisms. Dose adjustment should also be considered in patients with renal impairment.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the package.
