Indications
Pamezone is indicated for the treatment of various conditions related to excessive acid production in the stomach. It is used in the management of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) in adults and children over 12 years of age, as well as in the treatment of gastric and duodenal ulcers. Additionally, it is prescribed for the eradication of Helicobacter pylori in combination with antibiotics, which helps reduce the recurrence rates of peptic ulcers. It is also useful in the prevention of gastric ulcers induced by the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) in patients at high risk of complications.
Composition
Each Pamezone capsule contains 40 mg of esomeprazole, as well as excipients that facilitate the formulation and stabilization of the product.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to esomeprazole or any of the excipients in the formulation. Likewise, its use should be avoided in patients with severe liver diseases and in those who are taking medications that interfere with the metabolism of esomeprazole.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering Pamezone to patients with a history of liver or kidney disease, as well as in those with nutritional deficiencies. Monitoring is also recommended in patients who use the medication for prolonged periods due to the risk of developing hypomagnesemia and vitamin B12 deficiency.
