Indications

Onofin-K is indicated for the treatment of systemic and cutaneous fungal infections caused by susceptible fungi. It is used to treat various mycoses, such as:

  • Oral and esophageal candidiasis.
  • Dermatophytosis, including ringworm and onychomycosis.
  • Infections caused by fungi of the genus Histoplasma.
  • Blastomycosis and coccidioidomycosis.

Ketoconazole acts by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of the fungal cell membrane, which results in their death or inability to reproduce.

Composition

Each Onofin-K tablet contains 200 mg of ketoconazole as the active ingredient. Excipients: starch, lactose, magnesium stearate, among others.

Contraindications

Onofin-K is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to ketoconazole or to any of the components of the formulation. Its use is not recommended in patients with active liver disease or a history of hepatotoxicity related to the use of ketoconazole.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of liver disease, renal failure, or endocrine disorders. It is important to monitor liver function during treatment, especially during prolonged treatments. Its use is not recommended in pregnant or breastfeeding women, unless the benefit outweighs the potential risk.

Storage

Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 °C, in a dry place protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.

Otherwise, a fee of $170.00 MXN (One hundred seventy Mexican pesos) will be added for a standard package with dimensions up to 20cm x 20cm x 20cm and 1kg in weight, and $290.00 MXN (Two hundred ninety Mexican pesos) for packages exceeding the aforementioned dimensions or weight.
