Indications

Omeprazole is indicated for the treatment of various conditions related to excessive gastric acid production. It is used in the management of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), in the treatment of gastric and duodenal ulcers, as well as in the eradication of Helicobacter pylori in combination with antibiotics. It is also indicated in the prevention of gastric ulcers induced by non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Its action is based on the inhibition of the proton pump in the parietal cells of the stomach, which reduces acid secretion and improves symptoms related to hyperacidity.

Composition

Each Omeprazole ampule contains 40 mg of omeprazole as the active ingredient, as well as excipients that facilitate its administration and absorption. It is important to check the package insert for the complete list of components.

Contraindications

This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to omeprazole or to any of the excipients that make up the formula. Its use is not recommended in people with a history of severe allergic reactions to other proton pump inhibitors.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with liver or kidney diseases, as well as in those taking other medications that may interact with omeprazole. Medical follow-up is recommended for the appearance of new or persistent symptoms and in case of prolonged treatment.
