Indications

Omeprazole is indicated for the treatment of various conditions that require the suppression of gastric acid production. Its main indications include:

  • Treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), characterized by the regurgitation of gastric contents into the esophagus.
  • Treatment of gastric and duodenal ulcers, as well as the prevention of their recurrence.
  • Eradication of Helicobacter pylori in combination with antibiotics for the cure of peptic ulcers.
  • Treatment of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, a condition in which the stomach produces excessive amounts of acid.

Composition

Each Omeprazole capsule contains 20 mg of omeprazole as the active ingredient, as well as excipients necessary for the drug's formulation.

Contraindications

This medication is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to omeprazole or any of the excipients in the formulation. Caution should also be exercised in patients with severe liver disease.

Precautions

Medical supervision is recommended in patients with a history of liver disease, as well as in those requiring prolonged treatment. The possibility of vitamin B12 deficiency should be considered in long-term treatments.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
