Indications
Omeprazole is indicated for the treatment of various conditions related to excessive gastric acid production. It is used in the management of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), where it helps relieve symptoms of heartburn and regurgitation. It is also effective in the eradication of Helicobacter pylori in combination with antibiotics, as well as in the prevention and treatment of gastric and duodenal ulcers. Additionally, it is used in the treatment of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, a pathological condition characterized by excessive gastric acid secretion.
Composition
Each Omeprazole capsule contains 20 mg of omeprazole as the active ingredient, in addition to excipients that facilitate its formulation and absorption.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to omeprazole or any component of the formula. It should not be used in patients with a history of severe allergic reactions to other proton pump inhibitors.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in patients with liver diseases, as the metabolism of omeprazole may be affected. Furthermore, it should not be administered in cases of severe dehydration or in patients at risk of developing nutritional deficiencies due to malabsorption. It is suggested to monitor patients who present symptoms of peptic ulcer or gastric cancer before initiating treatment.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
