Indications
Novolexin is indicated for the treatment of various gastrointestinal conditions, such as:
- Gastric and duodenal ulcers.
- Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).
- Erosive esophagitis caused by acid reflux.
- Prevention of ulcers associated with the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
- Treatment of Helicobacter pylori infections, in combination with antibiotics.
Composition
Each Novolexin capsule contains 40 mg of omeprazole as an active ingredient, as well as excipients that contribute to the product's formulation.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to omeprazole, to any of its excipients, or to other proton pump inhibitors. Its use is not recommended during pregnancy and lactation without appropriate medical supervision.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with liver problems, as omeprazole metabolism may be affected. Furthermore, it is important to evaluate patients with a history of osteoporosis, as prolonged use of proton pump inhibitors may increase the risk of bone fractures. Medical follow-up is recommended to assess the need to continue treatment after a prolonged period of use.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children and do not use after the expiry date indicated on the package.
