Indications
Naproxen sodium 550 mg is indicated for the treatment of mild to moderate pain, including headache, dental pain, menstrual pain, and muscle pain. Additionally, it is used in the treatment of inflammatory conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. This medication works by inhibiting the synthesis of prostaglandins, which are responsible for inflammation and pain, providing effective relief. Its anti-inflammatory and analgesic effect can be beneficial in managing symptoms associated with rheumatic diseases and trauma. It is important to follow medical instructions for its use and the recommended dosage.
Composition
Each tablet contains 550 mg of naproxen sodium as the active ingredient. It also includes excipients such as corn starch, microcrystalline cellulose, and magnesium stearate, among others.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to naproxen, other NSAIDs, or any component of the formula. It is also contraindicated in patients with active peptic ulcer, severe renal insufficiency, severe hepatic insufficiency, and those with a history of recurrent gastrointestinal hemorrhages.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of asthma, high blood pressure, heart failure, kidney, or liver disease. Prolonged use or high doses may increase the risk of adverse effects. It is recommended to evaluate kidney function before starting treatment and during its use.
