Indications
Naproxen 550 mg is indicated for the treatment of various painful and inflammatory conditions. Its use is common in patients suffering from rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and menstrual pain. Additionally, it is effective in the treatment of acute pain, such as headaches, migraines, and postoperative pain. Naproxen acts by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis, which reduces inflammation and relieves pain.
Composition
Each tablet contains 550 mg of naproxen as the active ingredient. Excipients: starch, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, among others.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to naproxen or any other component of the formula. It should not be used in patients with a history of active peptic ulcer, gastrointestinal bleeding, or severe renal insufficiency. Likewise, its use should be avoided in pregnant women during the third trimester of gestation.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in patients with a history of gastrointestinal diseases, renal or hepatic insufficiency, arterial hypertension, and heart problems. It is important to monitor renal function in patients using naproxen long-term. Its use in combination with other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) is not recommended to avoid increased adverse effects.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, protected from direct light and out of the reach of children. The storage temperature should not exceed 30°C.
