Indications
Namifen is indicated for the treatment of mild to moderate pain, including pain associated with conditions such as dysmenorrhea (menstrual pain), dental pain, and postoperative pain. It is also used in the management of inflammatory conditions, such as in cases of arthritis. Mefenamic acid acts by inhibiting the synthesis of prostaglandins, substances involved in the inflammatory response and pain, thus providing effective symptomatic relief.
Composition
Each Namifen tablet contains 500 mg of mefenamic acid as the active ingredient. It also contains excipients that facilitate the formulation and stability of the product.
Contraindications
Namifen is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to mefenamic acid or other NSAIDs. It should not be administered to individuals with active gastric ulcers, gastrointestinal bleeding, or severe renal failure. Its use should also be avoided in patients with coagulation disorders and during the third trimester of pregnancy.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in patients with a history of asthma, hypertension, mild to moderate heart or kidney failure, as well as in those undergoing treatment with anticoagulants or antidiabetics. Renal and hepatic function should be monitored during prolonged treatment. The recommended dose should not be exceeded, as this may increase the risk of adverse effects.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children. Storage temperature should not exceed 30 °C.
