Indications

Moxifloxacin is indicated in the treatment of bacterial infections in various locations. Its use is indicated for treating respiratory infections, including acute and chronic bronchitis, as well as community-acquired pneumonia. It is also effective in the treatment of skin and soft tissue infections, as well as complicated intra-abdominal infections. This antibiotic belongs to the fluoroquinolone class, which acts by inhibiting bacterial DNA synthesis, leading to bacterial death.

Composition

Each tablet contains 400 mg of moxifloxacin as the active ingredient. Additionally, it contains excipients that facilitate the formulation and stability of the product.

Contraindications

The use of moxifloxacin is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to the molecule or to any of the excipients. Its use is not recommended in patients with a history of tendinopathy related to fluoroquinolone use. Likewise, it should be avoided in pregnant or breastfeeding women, as well as in children and adolescents under 18 years of age.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of seizure disorders, as well as in those with renal insufficiency, as drug elimination may be affected. It is important to monitor for the appearance of adverse effects, such as allergic reactions, gastrointestinal disorders, or central nervous system alterations.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the package.
