Indications
Moxifloxacin is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections in various areas of the body. These include, but are not limited to: acute and chronic respiratory infections, such as bronchitis and pneumonia, as well as skin and soft tissue infections. It is also used in the treatment of complicated intra-abdominal and skin infections, as well as in cases of acute sinusitis and otitis media. Moxifloxacin acts by inhibiting bacterial DNA synthesis, resulting in the death of susceptible bacteria. It is effective against a wide range of microorganisms, including those resistant to other antibiotics.
Composition
Each Moxifloxacin 400 mg tablet contains: - Moxifloxacin (as hydrochloride) 400 mg - Excipients: microcrystalline cellulose, silica, talc, among others.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to moxifloxacin or other fluoroquinolone antibiotics. Its use is not recommended in patients with a history of tendinitis or tendon rupture related to fluoroquinolone use. Likewise, it should be avoided in pregnant or breastfeeding women, as well as in children and adolescents under 18 years of age, due to the lack of conclusive studies in these populations.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of central nervous system diseases, such as epilepsy or seizures, as well as in those with renal impairment. Moxifloxacin may cause adverse reactions such as dizziness or drowsiness; therefore, caution is recommended when driving or operating heavy machinery. Additionally, it is important to monitor liver function in patients with pre-existing liver abnormalities.

Store the product in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
