Indications
Montelukast is indicated for the treatment and prevention of asthma symptoms, as well as for the relief of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis symptoms. This medication works by blocking leukotriene receptors, which helps reduce inflammation and mucus production in the airways, thus facilitating breathing. It is important that Montelukast is used under the supervision of a physician, who can determine the appropriate dose and duration of treatment according to the patient's needs.
Composition
Each Montelukast tablet contains 10 mg of montelukast as the active ingredient. It also contains excipients such as microcrystalline cellulose, starch, among others, which facilitate the formulation of the medicine.
Contraindications
Montelukast is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to montelukast or any of the excipients in the formulation. Its use is not recommended in patients with a history of severe allergic reactions.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with liver diseases, as well as in those who are being treated with other medications that may interact with montelukast. Regular medical follow-up is essential to evaluate the effectiveness of the treatment and the appearance of possible adverse effects.
