Indications

Methylphenidate is indicated for the treatment of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in children, adolescents, and adults. It is also used in the treatment of narcolepsy, a sleep disorder characterized by episodes of excessive daytime sleepiness and sudden sleep attacks. Methylphenidate administration should be part of a comprehensive treatment program that includes psychological, educational, and social measures. This medication acts as a central nervous system stimulant, improving attention and impulse control in patients diagnosed with ADHD.

Composition

Each Methylphenidate tablet contains 10 mg of methylphenidate as the active ingredient. Excipients: lactose, starch, magnesium stearate, and others.

Contraindications

Methylphenidate is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to the molecule, in those with a history of substance abuse, in cases of glaucoma, uncontrolled tics or Tourette's Syndrome, as well as in patients who are receiving treatment with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs).

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of cardiovascular disorders, hypertension, mental illness, seizures, or growth problems. Regular monitoring of the patient's psychiatric and cardiovascular status during treatment is recommended. Use in combination with other stimulants is not recommended without proper medical supervision.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
