Indications
Metamizole Sodium is indicated for the treatment of acute and chronic pain, as well as for the management of fever in situations requiring a rapid reduction of body temperature. This medication is frequently used in cases of postoperative pain, pain secondary to injuries or trauma, and in conditions that generate high or persistent fever. It is important that the use of Metamizole Sodium be under medical supervision, especially in patients with a history of kidney or liver problems.
Composition
Each tablet of Metamizole Sodium contains 500 mg of Metamizole Sodium as the active ingredient. Excipients are: corn starch, talc, and magnesium stearate.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Metamizole Sodium or any of its excipients. Its use is not recommended in patients with a history of agranulocytosis or hematological disorders. Likewise, it is contraindicated in patients suffering from severe gastrointestinal diseases, severe renal or hepatic insufficiency.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering Metamizole Sodium to patients with a history of cardiovascular diseases, as well as in those who are being treated with other medications that affect coagulation or may cause interactions. It is advisable to monitor blood counts during prolonged treatments to detect possible hematological adverse effects.
Storage
Store the medicine in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use this medicine after the expiry date indicated on the packaging.
