Indications

Metamizole is indicated for the treatment of acute or chronic pain of moderate to severe intensity, as well as for the management of fever that does not respond to other antipyretics. It is frequently used in clinical situations that require effective pain control, such as in postoperative patients, in cases of renal or biliary colic, and in episodes of oncological pain. Its analgesic action is due to its ability to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis, and its antipyretic effect is related to its action on the temperature-regulating center in the central nervous system.

Composition

Each ampule of Metamizole 1G/2Ml contains Metamizole sodium as an active ingredient, in addition to excipients that guarantee the stability and effectiveness of the medication.

Contraindications

This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to metamizole or any of the components of the formula. It should not be administered to patients with a history of agranulocytosis, severe liver or kidney function disorders, as well as those with hematological diseases or autoimmune diseases that may worsen their condition. Its use during pregnancy and lactation must be evaluated by a physician.

Precautions

Caution is recommended in patients with a history of asthma, cardiovascular diseases, as well as those who are undergoing treatment with other medications that may affect liver or kidney function. Adequate monitoring of blood counts is necessary in patients receiving prolonged treatment with metamizole. In case of fever or unusual symptoms, a doctor should be consulted immediately.
