Indications

Meloxicam is indicated for the treatment of various inflammatory and painful conditions. It is primarily used in the management of acute and chronic pain associated with conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. This medication works by inhibiting the synthesis of prostaglandins, substances that mediate inflammation and pain, providing effective relief from symptoms related to these conditions. It can also be useful in the treatment of post-operative pain and sports injuries.

Composition

Each tablet contains: Meloxicam 15 mg as the active ingredient. Excipients: Lactose, corn starch, magnesium stearate, among others.

Contraindications

This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to meloxicam or any component of the formulation. It is also contraindicated in patients with a history of active peptic ulcer, gastrointestinal bleeding, or severe renal failure. Its use is not recommended during the third trimester of pregnancy and during lactation.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised when administering meloxicam to patients with a history of gastrointestinal disorders, liver or kidney diseases, as well as those with arterial hypertension or heart failure. It is important to monitor renal and hepatic function during treatment. Concomitant use with other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) is not recommended due to an increased risk of adverse effects.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30 °C. Keep out of reach of children.
