Indications
Meclison is indicated for the treatment of symptoms associated with allergies, such as allergic rhinitis and urticaria. It is also used in the treatment of nausea and vomiting, especially in cases of motion sickness. The combination of meclizine and pyridoxine provides a dual approach to treatment, as meclizine acts as an antihistamine and pyridoxine helps control gastrointestinal symptoms. This medication may be useful in the treatment of motion sickness and in the prevention of postoperative nausea and vomiting.
Composition
Each Meclison tablet contains:
- Meclizine 25 mg
- Pyridoxine 50 mg
Contraindications
Meclison is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula. It should not be used in patients with severe liver diseases or in those with significant renal insufficiency. It is also contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation unless strictly necessary and under medical supervision.
Precautions
Caution is advised when administering Meclison to patients with a history of glaucoma, bronchial asthma, high blood pressure, or cardiovascular diseases. This medication may cause drowsiness, so care should be taken when performing activities that require full attention, such as driving or operating heavy machinery. It is important to inform the doctor about other medications the patient is taking to avoid interactions.
