Indications
Luditec is indicated for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults. It is used in patients with hyperglycemia who cannot adequately control their blood glucose levels through diet and physical exercise. This medication can be administered alone or in combination with other oral antidiabetics or insulin, depending on the specific needs of each patient. Glipizide works by stimulating the release of insulin from the pancreas, which helps to reduce blood glucose levels. It is important to adequately monitor glucose levels during treatment to adjust the dosage as needed.
Composition
Each Luditec tablet contains 10 mg of glipizide as the active ingredient. It also contains excipients that allow for the proper formulation and stability of the product.
Contraindications
Luditec is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to glipizide or any of the components of the formula. It is also contraindicated in patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus, diabetic ketoacidosis, and in those with severe liver or kidney diseases that may affect the elimination of glipizide.
Precautions
Caution is recommended when administering Luditec to patients with a history of liver or kidney disease, as well as in those with malnutrition, alcoholism, or in situations of significant stress. It is essential to ensure adequate medical follow-up and adjust the dose according to the patient's response to treatment.
