Indications

Lpsyrid is indicated for the treatment of partial seizures, whether simple or complex, in adult and pediatric patients from 4 years of age. It is also used as adjunctive therapy in the treatment of primary generalized tonic-clonic seizures. Its use may be considered in patients with refractory epilepsy who do not respond adequately to other antiepileptics. The medication acts by modulating neurotransmitter release and stabilizing neuronal electrical activity, which contributes to reducing the frequency and intensity of convulsive seizures.

Composition

Each Lpsyrid tablet contains: Levetiracetam 1000 mg, excipients: microcrystalline cellulose, sodium starch glycolate, magnesium stearate and colloidal silica.

Contraindications

Lpsyrid is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to levetiracetam or to any of the excipients in the formula. Its use is not recommended in patients with severe renal impairment without appropriate dose adjustments.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of psychiatric disorders, such as depression or suicidal ideation, as the use of levetiracetam may worsen these conditions. Likewise, it is important to assess the patient's renal function before starting treatment and during its use. In case of adverse reactions, a doctor should be consulted to evaluate the continuation of the treatment.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
