Indications

Losartan/Hydrochlorothiazide is indicated for the treatment of arterial hypertension, either as monotherapy or in combination with other antihypertensives. This medication is used to reduce the risk of cardiovascular events in patients with hypertension and additional risk factors, such as type 2 diabetes and kidney damage. It is also indicated for reducing blood pressure in patients with heart failure, helping to improve cardiac function and reduce mortality in these patients. The combination of Losartan and Hydrochlorothiazide allows for a synergistic action, providing greater blood pressure control, which can result in better treatment adherence.

Composition

Each tablet contains: Losartan 50 mg and Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg.

Contraindications

This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to the components of the formula, in those with a history of angioedema associated with treatment with angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEIs) or angiotensin II receptor blockers. It is also contraindicated in patients with anuria or severe renal failure.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised when administering Losartan/Hydrochlorothiazide in patients with a history of liver disease, moderate renal insufficiency, as well as in those who are being treated with diuretics or who have decreased intravascular volume. Regular monitoring of blood pressure and renal function is recommended during treatment.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Keep out of reach of children.
