Indications

Losartan is indicated for the treatment of high blood pressure in adults and children over 6 years of age. It is also used to reduce the risk of stroke in hypertensive patients with left ventricular hypertrophy. In addition, it is indicated for the treatment of nephropathy in type 2 diabetic patients with hypertension and proteinuria, as well as to improve kidney function in these patients.

Composition

Each tablet contains 50 mg of Losartan potassium. It also contains excipients such as microcrystalline cellulose, starch, and other inactive components that allow for the formulation of the medication.

Contraindications

Losartan is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to losartan or any of the excipients in the formula. It is also contraindicated in patients with a history of angioedema related to previous treatments with angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with renal insufficiency, as well as in those with renal artery stenosis. Blood pressure and kidney function should be monitored during treatment. Furthermore, concomitant use with other antihypertensives without proper medical supervision is recommended to be avoided.

Storage

Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 °C, in a dry place protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
