Indications
Loroprax is indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension. This medication works by selectively blocking beta-1 adrenergic receptors, resulting in a decrease in heart rate and blood pressure. It is also used in the management of chronic heart failure, as part of a comprehensive treatment that includes other therapeutic measures. Bisoprolol is appropriate for patients with a history of coronary heart disease, as it helps improve cardiac function and reduce mortality in these cases. Furthermore, bisoprolol has been shown to be effective in the treatment of angina pectoris, providing relief to patients who experience episodes of chest pain associated with physical exertion.
Composition
Each Loroprax tablet contains 5 mg of bisoprolol as the active ingredient. Excipients: lactose, corn starch, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, among others.
Contraindications
It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to bisoprolol or any of the excipients in the formulation. Its use is not recommended in patients with severe bradycardia, second or third-degree atrioventricular block, cardiogenic shock, or decompensated heart failure. Likewise, its use is contraindicated in asthmatic patients or those with a history of severe chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering this medication to diabetic patients, as it may mask the signs of hypoglycemia. Dose adjustment is recommended in patients with renal or hepatic insufficiency. When discontinuing treatment, the dose should be gradually reduced to avoid exacerbation of angina or myocardial infarction.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
