Indications
Lop 2 mg is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of acute and chronic diarrhea, as well as for reducing the frequency and urgency of bowel movements. Loperamide works by decreasing intestinal peristalsis and increasing the transit time of intestinal contents, which results in greater absorption of fluids and electrolytes, thus allowing for diarrhea control. This medication is useful in managing traveler's diarrhea and in cases of diarrhea associated with inflammatory bowel diseases.
Composition
Each tablet contains: 2 mg loperamide.
Contraindications
Lop is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to loperamide or any of the excipients in the formulation. It should not be administered in cases of acute bacterial diarrhea caused by pathogenic organisms or in the presence of high fever or blood in the stools. It is also contraindicated in patients with acute ulcerative colitis or pseudomembranous colitis.
Precautions
Caution is advised when administering Lop to patients with a history of liver or gastrointestinal diseases. If no improvement in symptoms is observed after 48 hours of treatment, a doctor should be consulted. Likewise, use in children under 12 years of age should be avoided without medical supervision. Patients presenting symptoms of dehydration should receive adequate treatment before starting the use of this medication.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30 °C. Keep out of reach of children.
