Indications

Levothyroxine Sodium is indicated for the treatment of hypothyroidism, which is a condition where the thyroid gland does not produce enough thyroid hormones. It is also used in the treatment of goiters and as part of the treatment of certain types of thyroid cancer. This medication helps restore adequate levels of thyroid hormones in the body, thereby improving various metabolic and physiological functions. It is essential to follow a doctor's instructions to adjust the dose according to the patient's needs and their response to treatment.

Composition

Each 100 Mcg Levothyroxine Sodium tablet contains: Levothyroxine Sodium as an active ingredient. Excipients: Lactose, starch, microcrystalline cellulose, and magnesium stearate.

Contraindications

This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to levothyroxine or any of the excipients. It should not be administered in cases of untreated hyperthyroidism, untreated adrenal disease, and during treatment with oral anticoagulants without adequate medical supervision.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with cardiovascular diseases, autoimmune diseases, and those taking other medications that may interfere with the action of levothyroxine. Regular medical monitoring is recommended to adjust the dose if necessary and avoid adverse effects.
