Indications

Levonorgestrel 1.5 mg is indicated for emergency contraception. Its use is effective in preventing pregnancy after unprotected sex or in case of failure of other contraceptive methods. It is recommended to administer it as soon as possible after intercourse, preferably within 72 hours, although it can be effective up to 120 hours later. It should not be used as a regular contraceptive method and does not protect against sexually transmitted infections.

Composition

Each tablet contains 1.5 mg of Levonorgestrel as an active ingredient. Excipients: lactose, starch, magnesium stearate, and other inactive components.

Contraindications

This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Levonorgestrel or any of the excipients. It should not be administered in cases of confirmed or suspected pregnancy. Its use is not recommended in patients with a history of venous or arterial thrombosis, severe liver diseases, or breast cancer or reproductive organ cancer.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in women with a history of gastrointestinal problems that may affect drug absorption, as well as in those who have experienced abnormal vaginal bleeding. It is important to consult a doctor before use, especially if other medications are being taken or if pre-existing medical conditions are present.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at temperatures not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
