Indications
Levofloxacin is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections caused by susceptible microorganisms. It is used in respiratory tract infections, including community-acquired pneumonia and acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis. It is also effective in urinary tract infections, including pyelonephritis and cystitis, as well as in skin and soft tissue infections. Additionally, it can be used for the treatment of infections caused by germs resistant to other antibiotics.
Composition
Each tablet contains 750 mg of levofloxacin as the active ingredient, as well as excipients that allow for product formulation.
Contraindications
Levofloxacin is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to fluoroquinolones. It should not be administered to patients with epilepsy or a history of seizures, as well as those with tendon problems, especially in older individuals or with concomitant use of corticosteroids.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in patients with renal insufficiency, as well as in those with central nervous system disorders. Use in patients with a history of QT interval prolongation or those receiving other drugs that affect this interval should be carefully evaluated. It is important to avoid sun exposure during treatment due to the risk of photosensitivity.
Storage
Store the product in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Keep out of reach of children.
