Indications
Latanoprost Opko is indicated for the treatment of ocular hypertension and open-angle glaucoma. This medication helps lower intraocular pressure by increasing the drainage of aqueous humor, resulting in an effective reduction of pressure in the eye. Its use is recommended in patients who have not achieved their target ocular pressure with other treatments. Latanoprost may be considered as part of a combined treatment regimen, if necessary, to optimize intraocular pressure control.
Composition
Each ml of ophthalmic solution contains 0.05 mg of Latanoprost. Excipients: sodium chloride, boric acid, sodium hydroxide, purified water.
Contraindications
It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Latanoprost or to any of the excipients in the formulation. Its use is not recommended in patients with active ocular inflammation or eye infections. Caution should also be exercised in patients with a history of uveitis or maculopathies.
Precautions
It should be used with caution in patients with a history of obstructive respiratory diseases. It may cause changes in iris pigmentation, as well as in eyelashes and the periorbital area. Regular medical supervision is recommended during treatment, especially in patients with pre-existing eye conditions.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 25 °C. Keep the bottle tightly closed and protected from light. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package. Once opened, the solution must be used within one month.
