Indications

Lacosamide is indicated as adjunctive treatment for patients over 17 years of age with partial epilepsy, with or without secondary generalization. It is also recommended for the treatment of epileptic seizures, as well as for the management of epilepsy resistant to previous treatments. Its effectiveness in reducing seizure frequency has been demonstrated, improving the quality of life of patients suffering from this condition. It is important to follow the doctor's instructions when adjusting the dose, which may vary depending on the patient's clinical response and the presence of adverse effects.

Composition

Each tablet contains: Lacosamide 200 mg. Excipients: Lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, and other excipients.

Contraindications

Lacosamide is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to lacosamide or to any of the excipients in the formulation. It should also be avoided in patients with a history of heart block, as well as in those with severe cardiovascular system problems.

Precautions

Caution is recommended in patients with a history of heart disease, especially those with risk factors such as coronary artery disease or heart failure. Likewise, care should be taken in patients with a history of substance abuse. Regular medical follow-up is essential to evaluate efficacy and the appearance of adverse effects during treatment.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the package.
