Indications
Krobicin suspension is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections caused by clarithromycin-susceptible organisms. It is used in respiratory infections, otitis media, sinusitis, skin and soft tissue infections, as well as in the eradication of Helicobacter pylori in patients with peptic ulcers. It can also be used in immunocompromised patients with Mycobacterium avium infections.
Composition
Each 5 ml of suspension contains: Clarithromycin 50 mg.
Contraindications
Krobicin is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to clarithromycin, any other macrolide antibiotic, or any of the components of the formula. Its use is not recommended in patients with severe hepatic dysfunction or in those undergoing treatment with certain medications that interact with clarithromycin, such as some antihistamines and medications for HIV treatment.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of liver, kidney, or heart disease. Clinical monitoring and dose adjustment are important when necessary. Krobicin can cause adverse effects on the gastrointestinal system, as well as alterations in the central nervous system. It is recommended to avoid the use of this medication in pregnant or breastfeeding women, unless strictly necessary and under medical supervision.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 °C. Protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
