Indications

Ketorolac is indicated for the treatment of moderate to severe pain, including postoperative pain and pain associated with dental procedures. This medication acts as a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), which helps reduce inflammation, pain, and fever. It is frequently used in situations where effective pain management is required, such as in orthopedic and gynecological surgeries and in cases of renal colic. Furthermore, it can be used in the treatment of post-traumatic pain and in conditions involving acute inflammation.

Composition

Each 30 ml ampoule of Ketorolac contains:
Ketorolac tromethamine 30 mg
Excipients: water for injection, sodium chloride.

Contraindications

Ketorolac is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to the molecule or to any of the excipients in the formula. It is also contraindicated in cases of active gastrointestinal ulcers, hemorrhages, severe renal failure, and in patients who have received treatment with other NSAIDs or anticoagulants. Its use is not recommended during pregnancy, especially in the third trimester, due to its potential adverse effect on the fetus.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of cardiovascular disease, arterial hypertension, moderate hepatic or renal disease. It is important to monitor renal and hepatic function during treatment, especially in prolonged therapies. This medication should be used with caution in patients over 65 years of age or in those who present dehydration.

Storage

Ketorolac should be stored in a cool, dry place, at temperatures not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use the medication after the expiration date indicated on the package.
